Bria will not dial out with withheld identity?

Postby spwdon » Fri Mar 27, 2009 12:44 pm

1. Nothing happens when I dial out with identity withheld "hide my number for this call".

2. When I try *67xxx-xxx-xxxx I get "the user is temporarly not available (404)."

I'm sure that Bria is in fact dialing out. I'd imagine it is a provider issue.
You can verify the dialout by checking a Wireshark trace.

Not Dialing Out

Postby spwdon » Fri Mar 27, 2009 2:40 pm

Not dialing out according to my voip provider call log.

My provider is VoicePulse, if I dial out using my phone connected to the adaptor, the *67 works fine but using Bria there is no nothing, no sound, no call in the log as afformentioned.

I've just checked here using Wireshark, and when I dial *67 (send) the proper invite is sent.

Request-Line: INVITE sip:*67@xxx.xxxxxxx.com SIP/2.0

Have you checked a Wireshark trace taken from the client side?

Wireshark?

Postby spwdon » Fri Mar 27, 2009 3:28 pm

I know nothing about wireshark. I Googled it and found the software, installed it but it is not picking up anything... Hell i'm new at this!

*67 Does not work

Postby spwdon » Mon Mar 30, 2009 11:47 am

It seems that there needs to be a pause after the *67 for it to work. Just dialing *67xxx.xxx.xxxx does not work. But if I dial *67 then enter the number it works. Do i need to modify the dial plan? Can someone help me?

There is no provision for a pause in a dial string. I'm sorry.

Is there any provision that can be made in the dial plan to send the *67 first and the the number?

You're not bothering me at all. :)

It is not programatically possible to add a pause.
A dial string is a SIP_URI.

The phone itself has the ability to withhold caller ID information from the actions menu.

You are trying to access a server side function and then dial.

That very function on the actions menu does not work, nor does manually dialing the *67. The only method that works is dialing *67 then entering the number.

Using the actions menu does indeed withold your caller ID information.
In your case the server is sending the information regardless. *67 is a serverside command.

No, the action menu function indeed DOES NOT DO ANYTHING! It does not make any call at all, nothing, zip, dead. It does not work at all..

From the action menu you select hide my number for this call, and then you dial.
If you look at a packet trace, you will indeed see the invite with no Caller ID information. :)
